These electoral maps at Real Clear Politics are fascinating . What I didn’t realize is that Illinois was a red state up until Clinton in 1992 (1968 onward). The maps from the 70’s and 80’s are frightening. Interesting that Texas was blue in ’68 and ’76. 1984 was a travesty, as was ’72. The most important one, 2008, looks pretty good right now.
