This, my younger readers, is called an 8-track. It was probably the most inefficient and inconvenient form of music ever. Usually divided into four parts (programs), you could not rewind at all and to play a song you liked over again you had to fast-forward to the end of the program and then…oh, forget it, it’s exhausting just trying to explain it! The only 8-tracks I ever remember listening to as a young impressionable child were George Carlin and Steve Martin comedy albums. This gem–Chuck Mangione’s “Feels So Good”–was sitting innocently on the gift table at a recent wedding I attended. Best gift ever.
