The Long Tragic Grind of Human Affairs

There’s so much about this remembrance that Sebastian Junger writes for his fallen friend, photojournalist Tim Hetherington, that inspires. It’s sad and poignant but also really great writing. And yes, I still don’t understand these wars we’re in.

That’s also part of what you died for: the decision to live a life that was thrown open to all the beauty and misery and ugliness and joy in the world.

It’s not terribly long but you should read it, that’s all I’m saying.
